Headwaters: Preserving the Past and Welcoming New Generations

It’s easy to get lost in the beauty. It’s quiet here and the Hill Country view is breathtaking. Hazy Hills Manor sits upon one of the highest points in Headwaters, and from there it’s easy to envision the history that surrounds you. Parts of the original stone building remain, creating a unique landmark for a one-of-a-kind neighborhood.

Originally the domain of the Townes family, this land is now home to more than 700 houses. Headwaters, named to commemorate the location at the confluence of Little Barton and Barton Creek, is a thoughtfully planned neighborhood unlike any other.

Instead of overbuilding, developer Freehold Communities designed the neighborhood into and around the land, saving as many trees as possible and maintaining more than 1,000 acres of open green space. Nearly every home backs to a greenbelt, offering scenic beauty and unique privacy. Residents have access to 11 miles of trails and 30 acres of parks and playgrounds, including a stargazing park and Hazy Hills Manor.
