Building Traditions: A Look at Brooke’s First Year of Headwaters Events
When we introduced Brooke as Headwaters’ new Lifestyle Director, she told us she was excited to build “signature annual traditions” and “diverse programming for all ages.” A few seasons in, she’s already making good on that promise — and residents have the tan lines, lasting memories, and full bellies to prove it.
From a Fiesta full of color to a crawfish boil that had neighbors lining up for seconds, Brooke has spent 2026 turning HW Central and every corner of Headwaters into the kind of place people actually want to be on a Saturday. Here’s a look back at some of her biggest moments of 2026 so far — and what she’s cooking up next.
Fiesta: Color, Community, and a Whole Lot of Fun
First up was Fiesta — inspired by San Antonio, this vibrant, high-energy spring celebration turned Headwaters into a sea of color for the day. True to Brooke’s promise of “something for everyone,” Fiesta leaned into the kind of festive, family-friendly programming she’d hinted at in her first weeks on the job. It also gave residents a reason to slow down, dress up a little, and celebrate together – it was community building at its most joyful.

Crawfish Boil: A Taste of New Tradition
By summer, Brooke had residents rolling up their sleeves for Headwaters’ first-ever Crawfish Boil. It was the kind of hands-on, food-forward event that turns strangers at the same table into friends by the end of the afternoon — and, just as Brooke was wishing, it is hopefully the start of a brand-new Headwaters tradition. It’s exactly the seasonal-celebration energy Brooke promised when she first stepped into the role, brought to life with a distinctly Hill Country, communal spirit.

Back to Cool: Sending Kids into the School Year in Style
As summer wound down, Brooke made sure Headwaters kids went out with a bang: Back to Cool, her most recent lifestyle event and easily one of the liveliest yet. The Hub turned into a full-blown outdoor arcade for the day, packed with putt-putt, air hockey, basketball, and a dunk tank that saw more than a few brave volunteers take the plunge — plus plenty more games to burn off every last drop of end-of-summer energy. By the time that school bells were ringing, Headwaters’ youngest residents had a fresh batch of memories to carry into the new year. It’s exactly the kind of “programming for all ages” Brooke promised from day one — proof that her vision for the community extends just as much to the kids as it does to the grown-ups.

More Than Just a Calendar of Events
What ties Fiesta and the Crawfish Boil together isn’t just good food and good weather — it’s Brooke’s underlying philosophy that a great community is built one gathering at a time. In her first interview with us, she talked about wanting to develop “signature annual traditions” that would make Headwaters “one of the most connected communities in the area.” Multiple events and countless smiling faces later, that vision is already taking shape.
What’s Next for Headwaters
If 2026 is any indication, Brooke isn’t slowing down. Residents can expect more seasonal celebrations and neighborhood traditions in the works; all designed with Brooke’s signature blend of heart and hospitality.
As Brooke put it when she first joined the team: “Headwaters isn’t just a neighborhood, it’s where connections come alive.” One year in, it’s safe to say she’s living up to that every single event.
