Headwaters Honored By National Association of Home Builders

Freehold Master-Planned Community in Dripping Springs, Texas Recognized for Best Landscape Design

AUSTIN, TEXAS — February 20, 2019Freehold Communities is proud to announce that its Headwaters master-planned community in Dripping Springs, Texas, has won a Gold Nationals Award for Best Landscape Design from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Presented by the National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC), a council of the NAHB, The Nationals honor the very best of North America’s new home sales and marketing initiatives, showcasing winners in distinguished national, regional and local publications.

“We’re incredibly proud of Headwaters,” said Matt D. Matthews, Texas Division President of Freehold Communities. “Working closely with our landscape architecture partner, RVi, we have created a truly unique community. We are grateful to our entire team for making this project possible.”

The Headwaters community features the Texas Hill Country’s scenic views, abundant wildlife and rolling hills. At the heart of the community is HW Central, a recreational complex with a split-level pool, state-of-the-art fitness center and clubhouse for community gatherings. RVi Planning + Landscape Architecture created a master-planned concept that integrated a mix of residential lots adjacent to over 1,000 acres of natural open space.

“Even in the Texas Hill Country, it’s rare to have an opportunity to work with such an extensive natural palette. Freehold Communities’ commitment to making open space an amenity for the residents and the public resulted in a truly unique plan,” said Patrick Smith, Director of Landscape Architecture for RVi. “Headwaters is a community where every single home opens to and embraces the natural Hill Country landscape.”

Founded in 1982 as the Institute of Residential Marketing, The Nationals award program recognizes superior new home sales and marketing achievements. With 61 categories across various disciplines of the new home industry, the awards honor excellence in product and community design, advertising, marketing and sales achievements by individuals and sales teams.

“The Nationals are the most prestigious awards of their kind, setting the benchmark for innovation in new home design, marketing and sales,” said Kelly Fink, chairperson of The Nationals. “NAHB’s commitment to recognizing originality, imagination and success has been exemplified by its award winners since the competition’s inception.”
